- Tutorial 4 - Adding a Door

- 1) Open your level from Tutorial 3.

- 2) Lock the Passage group if you haven’t already.

- 3) Draw a thin box brush for a door.

- Draw the box in the Top view and adjust it in the other views so it meets the ceiling and floor:

- 4) Convert the box brush into a door entity.

- Choose Convert to Entity... from the Special menu, find the door type and click Create :

- 5) Set the angle to 90° and give it sound.
-
- In the top view, the angle 0° is east, 90° is north, 180° is west, and so on. So the door will move north in the Top view when it opens.

- Select sounds from the Add Attribute: drop-down menu. Choose Stone from the pop-up menu in the sounds attribute.

- 6) Run the level in Quake.
